TABLE 1 - WATERSHED LAND USE

Cultivated cropland comprises approximately 50 percent of the watershed. Most producers use a corn and soybean rotation and plant winter wheat following soybeans on a portion of their total acreage. Average corn yields are about 135 bushels per acre and soybean yields are 52 bushels per acre. Approximately 70 percent of all cropland is planted no-till, 20 percent is planted using conservation tillage, and 10 percent or less is planted using conventional tillage.

* Farm Service Agency crop reports, 1990 - 1994
** Includes grain sorghum
*** Does not include double-crop soybeans following wheat
