Monitoring Possibilities
Medium Priority Monitoring Goals
Due to the fact that not all monitoring techniques can be started at once and the factor of
cost and time to have programs operational, the following goals were considered to be long
range monitoring goals to be implemented in the next five to ten years.
Develop Ground Water Monitoring Program.
Water Monitoring Program.
Develop a Storm
Expand and Continue Existing Volunteer Programs.
Develop a Drinking Water Testing and Monitoring Program.
Cooperate with and Support Jurisdictional Agencies with Investigation of Sewer and Septic Systems.
Other Monitoring Possibilities
Six topic areas are discussed in Section 11. These topics received the
most attention in the public data gathering process. Four of the topic areas (agriculture
needs, urban/residential needs, habitat needs, and watershed operation needs) contain a list of
monitoring and evaluation ideas suggested by the public. Some of the monitoring suggestions
are specific but most would be appropriate and adaptable to any topic area. Monitoring
possibilities are endless. The major concern with monitoring efforts is how to fund the
efforts, time requirements to process the data, how to manage the data and how to report the
results and share findings with the public and other agencies.
