Ways to Meet the Future Educational, Public Relation and Communication Needs in the Watershed

Every evaluation completed has shown the critical need for evaluation and educational efforts.

Currently, the project is using educational tools to increase the knowledge of the watershed residents. With the use of demonstration sites and practices, new technology is being extended to a larger audience.

Actions to reach the citizens of the watershed are vital. In May, the project was awarded an Ohio Environmental Education Fund (OEEF) grant. The acquisition of the OEEF grant allows the project to expand its education and public relations efforts to school students in the watershed. The program will collaborate with the schools in Logan County to produce meaningful, educational material for grades one through 12 and provide quality outdoor educational experiences.

The following pages include educational and public relations efforts which the project team has helped develop. In the five topic areas following this part are suggestions made by the public for these efforts. Like the monitoring efforts, these are educational and public relation efforts which could be integrated into almost any program area.
